On July 14, the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of the holy martyrs, miracle workers and unmercenary brothers Cosmas and Damian, who suffered in Rome (+ c. 284). The brothers were originally from Rome and were doctors by profession. Their Christian parents raised them to be pious and chaste, and God rewarded them with the gift of healing illnesses. Cosmas and Damian healed everyone who turned to them without taking money for it. At the same time, they told people: “We do not heal illnesses with our own power, but with the power of Christ, the True God. Believe in Him and you will be healthy.”

14 июля Православная Церковь празднует память святых мучеников, чудотворцев и бессребреников братьев Космы и Дамиана, в Риме пострадавших (+ ок. 284 г.). Родом братья были из Рима, по профессии – врачами. Родители-христиане воспитали их благочестивыми и целомудренными, а Бог наградил даром исцеления болезней. Косма и Дамиан исцеляли всех, кто к ним обращался не беря за это денег. При этом они говорили людям: «Не своей силой мы врачуем болезни, а силой Христа, Истинного Бога. Веруйте в Него и будете здоровы».
