The first Sunday after the Feast of Pentecost, the Church glorifies all its saints. This holiday appeared in the Eastern part of the Roman Empire at the end of the fourth – beginning of the fifth century. People who are closer to God than others are called saints. This holiness is not always absolute. Each of the saints had their own unique path. Each story has its own, separate lesson for us. God has more saints than we know – and therefore the Church especially singles out this day and addresses them all:
“All saints, pray to God for us!”
Our parish congratulates the rector of our church, Father Rodion, and our parishioners Lika and Liana on their birthdays and prayerfully wishes them longevity and good health, strength, spiritual joy and God’s gracious help.
